I began homeschooling my son two months ago for health reasons. He reads at an advanced level (3 grade levels ahead supposedly...but reading does not necessarily mean understanding) but I want to make sure he has a solid foundation in phonics and knows how to pronounce blends. The school he finished 1st grade in was all about drilling sight words. Even words that can be decoded with phonics, so I appreciate the piece-meal approach. I want accuracy, not just speed.

Well, and the bright colors and your adoring pictures help. And the content, ditties like "don't spit, while you spin."-they make both of us chuckle. Like other reviewers mentioned it makes him want to read more. We read 2 books this morning (almost one WHOLE hour and this is our SCHOOL time!) and he asked for more. I actually needed a break. ;)

Thanks for providing this free service. I agree with you...once you're literate the other subjects can be acquired independently. You can read math instructions, physics, any subject you fancy.

I have shared your website with other homeschoolers in the Ft Hood area of Texas. There seems to be a veritable explosion of new homeschoolers lately.

Thanks again for making our mornings fun!
