To become an independent reader, a child needs to learn many reading skills. Most children will eventually learn or figure out these skills, but the earlier these skills are learned, the better.
Children who read ABOVE grade level can perform better in school -- they are more able to follow along and keep up with their classwork.
This is why it's so important to "keep at it" when teaching a child how to read, yet most phonics programs only go as far as teaching short vowels and the simplest rules of long vowels.
Not Progressive Phonics. We give you the tools to easily and painlessly take a child all the way up to a third grade reading level. Why third grade? Because up till third grade, children are learning to read; after third grade, children are reading to learn.
